Tours · Private days from Cape Town

Pick a valley. We'll do the driving.

Six wine regions, each with its own character. Choose the one that suits you, and a private vehicle and driver take you from your door to the farms and back. Nobody has to stay sober but the driver.

All CapeX drivers hold a PrDP and are background-checked.

A full Winelands day

  1. We collect you from your door, anywhere in Cape Town
  2. First tasting at a farm of your choice
  3. Lunch on a wine farm, at your own cost
  4. One or two more farms, at your own pace
  5. Home, approximately, depending on the region

Why a private day

Your farms. Your pace. Your driver.

Someone else drives

Your driver stays sober and handles the roads, so everyone in the group can taste.

No timetable

Stay longer where you like it, skip what you don't. No waiting for the next shuttle between farms.

Mix and match

Pick the farms yourself, ask us to suggest some, or combine two valleys in one day.

Good to know

Which region should we choose?

Short on time or staying in town: Constantia or Durbanville. First time in the Winelands: Stellenbosch, or two valleys in a day. Food lovers: Franschhoek. Something quieter: Elgin or Paarl. Not sure? Choose "Not sure yet" and we'll suggest one.

Do you choose the farms?

You can. Tell us which farms you'd like when you book, or ask us to suggest two or three that suit your group.

Can we visit Dekkersvlei?

Yes. Dekkersvlei in Paarl is part of the Aquila Collection, which CapeX is affiliated with. Its walking tour takes in the cellars and the vineyards, with a tasting that includes its white Pinotage. Add it to a Paarl day, or choose "Paarl" and tell us you'd like it.

Are tastings and lunch included?

Tasting fees and lunch are paid at the farms, at your own cost. If you'd rather have tastings included in your quote, tell us when you book.

Can you take us to the Franschhoek Wine Tram?

Yes. We drop you at the Wine Tram in Franschhoek and collect you when you're done. Tram tickets are booked directly with the Wine Tram.

Can children come?

Yes, many farms are family-friendly. Wine tastings are for guests aged 18 and over.

How many people can you take?

From 1 guest up to 14 in one vehicle. Bigger groups get more vehicles.
