How CapeX Transport Group handles personal information under POPIA.

This policy explains how we handle personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
What we collect
- Riders and customers: names, phone numbers and email addresses; pick-up and drop-off addresses; trip bookings and history; boarding confirmations; and trip GPS data.
- Drivers and vehicle owners: the identity, licence, vehicle and banking documents we need to contract with them.
- Website forms: your name, email, mobile number and company, and the details you add (for example headcount, shift times or an event date).
- Website calls: if you book a call through our calendar, the time you choose.
Why we use it
- To plan and run trips, confirm who boarded, and keep riders and drivers safe.
- To invoice clients and pay drivers and owners.
- To reply to enquiries.
- To meet our legal obligations.
If you request a quote or download a guide, we may follow up with you about it.
Who we share it with
- The people who deliver your trip. Your driver sees your name, pick-up point and boarding code.
- Your employer, if they book transport for you.
- Partner tour operators, for tours you book with them.
- Our service providers. They host our systems and data, and run our booking calendar, maps and website analytics.
We never sell personal information.
How long we keep it
- Trip records and GPS data: 12 months, or longer if needed for an incident, claim or dispute.
- Invoices, payments and other financial records: 7 years, as company and tax law requires.
- Website enquiries that don't become bookings: 2 years.
- Driver and owner documents: for as long as we work together, then as the law requires.
Analytics and spam protection
We use Google Analytics to see which pages are useful. We may use Google reCAPTCHA to block spam on forms.
Your rights
You can:
- ask to see, correct or delete your personal information;
- object to its use;
- complain to the Information Regulator.
